How customers opt in to ServiceStellar text messages
ServiceStellar Repair Notifications is a text message program operated by Hyperspace Inc. Customers of participating repair shops can choose to receive texts about their own repair orders. Customers opt in in person at the shop counter when they drop off an item for service. Consent is not a condition of purchase or service.
A. The opt-in process
- At drop-off, shop staff ask: “Would you like text updates from ServiceStellar about your repair, like estimates, status updates and pickup notices? Message frequency varies, msg & data rates may apply, and you can reply STOP anytime.”
- If the customer agrees, staff enter the customer’s mobile number in the ServiceStellar repair ticket and check the required consent box (see Sample B). ServiceStellar records the date, time, and staff member.
- The customer receives a printed or emailed work order that includes the SMS disclosure (see Sample C).
- The customer’s first text confirms enrollment and explains how to opt out (see Sample D).
Customers who do not agree are never sent text messages.
